iPad gets arcade cabinet dock
Square Enix is releasing a scaled-down version of an arcade cabinet to rest your iPad in.
iNVADERCADE as its known, which is released later this year, is a custom-made dock for your iPad (first or second generation), built to emulate the cabinets found in arcades around the country.
The dock maps control to the mini-arcade stick for an "authentic" representation of the experience - though you'll have to purchase the Space Invaders HD title separately from the App store (it's retailing for £2.99).
The cabinet offers an internal amp and speakers, and a headphone socket, but has to run off an AC adapter - charging your iPad in the process.
Pricing is being suggested at around £150, but check online stores to see if you can't get it cheaper once it launches.
