Halfbrick, the developer of Fruit Ninja, has today released its newest title, Jetpack Joyride, on iOS devices.

The game, retailing for 69p on the App Store and which upscales for iPad screens, has you blasting through science labs strapped to a jetpack.

Much like Tiny Wings the goal is to see how far you can get in a run, touching the screen to increase thrust on your jetpack, with your time ending if you're hit by missiles, slam into laser beams, or run afoul of electric fences.

There's collectable upgrades, science's own version of Mario's Mushrooms, which add such effects as instant transports or gravity-altering suits. Pick up coins on route to increase your score and be able to unlock new equipment.

It's instantly addicting and the GR staff have already lost some time this morning playing. We'll have a lengthier look at the title online soon.
