A comprehensive and interactive version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, based on the device from the series of novels by Douglas Adams, is to be released as an App for iOS devices this winter.

The creation is being handled by Hothead Games, which works akin to Wikipedia, letting users search through the likes of towels, vogons, Milliways, the Babel Fish, a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, how to survive in space and more.

"We really focused on taking existing Guide entries and presenting them in a new, interactive way," commented Joel DeYoung, Hothead Producer. "We have so much respect for the original that we had to stay true to the style of Douglas Adams, and deliver an app that feels familiar to fans, but updated for today's devices."

An official site has been set up for more info.
