Square-Enix used their E3 presentation to dole out a few extra snippets about the newly-announced Kingdom Hearts III. The title's being developed by the Osaka-team behind the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, and while the publisher (along with artwork at the show) confirmed the core three characters of Sora, Goofy and Donald are returning, they'll be visiting "legendary Disney worlds yet unseen". (What these are, the company won't say, stating they couldn't answer at this time when the potential of Pixar crossovers was raised during the post-presentation Q&A.)
A press release handed out after the event carried a short blurb on the story:
"Believing light and darkness must remain in balance, Master Xehanort seeks to spark war against the "tyranny of light" to restore equilibrium. In an effort to undermine Xehanort's plot, Sora, Donald and Goofy search for seven guardians of light and the "Key to Return Hearts", while King Mickey and Riku search for previous Keyblade wielders."
The game is due on both PS4 and Xbox One - a release date has yet to be confirmed.
