Bungie has released a free iPhone App named Bungie Mobile.
The App works similar to the current bungie.net setup, a quick sign in allowing you to access your Halo stats with a touch of the screen. The App also lets you search for other players by gamertag, news updates with an RSS feed tied to the website and Twitter feed which, once you've signed in to your Twitter account, you can reply, retweet or favourite from within the App.
There's also a special "Love Bungie" tab in the App, in which the company will be throwing in some special treats from time to time. For the moment (and as a thanks for signing up) the tab offers a Blue Flames Spartan helmet to wear in Halo: Reach. Simply switch the option to "ON" in the App, and it'll appear in your armoury when next you sign in to Xbox Live.
There's also an All-Star Nameplate which you can gift to seven other players if you so wish.
The company state the move, is a "small step into the mobile world. The first of many," and explain via a post-launch Q&A about the App coming to other non-Apple devices:
"We're not ready to announce phase 2 features at this time. That said, we hear non-iPhone users loud and clear. Same goes for feature requests covering forums, more robust stat integration, and free puppies. We make no specific promises, but we will be updating the app in the future. Keep the comments coming and hang tight."
