The on-going fracas between Sony and LG over Blu-ray patent infringements has taken another turn as the order to seize a shipment of PS3 stock - some 300,000 consoles - has been lifted and LG ordered to pay 130,000 Euros by a Court in the Hague.
Reported by Gamesindustry.biz, was has confirmed the news from multiple sources, LG now faces an additional 200,000 Euros worth in fines for every day that it fails to pay the original fine. The consoles will now continue their journey to retail stores across Europe.
The industry site points out that the lifting of this seizure order doesn't impact on the ongoing case, where LG is seeking royalty payments from Sony for selling its consoles with Blu-ray technology installed, a patent LG legally believes to be its own.
