Sony's NGP will have multiple SKUs come launch, with only one being offered with 3G connectivity, SCEE boss Andrew House has confirmed.
Speaking with Eurogamer after the NGP announcement yesterday, House explained that the company hadn't done the best job stressing the difference between the units during the conference.
"The first thing to clarify, which I'm not sure the presentation did a perfect job of doing today, is that all of the devices will have Wi-Fi capability; a separate SKU will have 3G," he stated. "So the user gets a choice. Wi-Fi is available wherever, which clearly is the most important aspect of connectivity and that connected experience; 3G will be a subset of that."
As expected, pricing and the different setups will be outlined much closer to launch.
