As part of Nintendo Direct, the company aired a short developer diary video from Platinum Games, discussing the development of Bayonetta 2.
While the video focused on team members discussing the game at the studio's offices, there were a few clips and gameplay snippets.
A number of new enemy types, shown performing attack patterns, were revealed (early favourite is the headless sword-swinging warrior, who's face is instead carved into the blade's hilt), and all had a uniform look that suggested they're grouped as a new legion of Angels. There was also glimpses of new weapon types (dual boot whips perhaps?), and team members played on the GamePad.
There'll be new locations from the first game, and areas will be much more diverse, while the team's focus on making you feel like you're combating the last game's final boss from the very beginning in the sequel suggests they're not dumbing down the difficulty.
Satoru Iwata announced that there'll be a special broadcast of Iwata asks with Platinum Games in the near future, that'll discuss the game's creation and philosophies, if not specific details about gameplay.
