It's been a year since the release of Civilization VI, and while we still await news on the first expansion Firaxis Games continue to roll out quarterly updates. Next up is the fall update and the first details have been posted over on Steam.
Religion has been something of a concern to Civ VI players and it is clearly one of the main areas that will be changed with the update. New beliefs and units are being added and there will be two new Pantheons complete with all you'd expect. You'll also be able to unlock a new combat unit, the Warrior Monk. Religious combat has also been changed up a lot, with Guru units to heal others, and you can now exert zone of control, and gain flank and support bonuses in religious combat.
Religion is the only area that is being changed up as Firaxis are addressing UI and AI concerns too. One area that is specifically mentioned is the AI's use of naval units that is being tweaked and tuned so that the seas are no longer safe zones.
There will be more new features and tweaks in the upcoming patch, but for now, this is what Firaxis has communicated.
