It's called Solar Minotaur Rescue Frenzy, by the way, already winning our newly-created 'Best Title of the Year' award already. Note, that's not 'Best Abstract Title' - because the name pretty much sums up what you're going to get.

Solar Minotaur Rescue Frenzy, as reported by iPhone gaming site touchArcade combines Asteroids and Geometry Wars with Minter's own flair for the ridiculous. You're piloting a spaceship hellbent on destroying space rocks before they impact against the sun, whilst combating its gravitational pull. Certain rocks will yield Minotaurs when destroyed, which need rescuing before they're turned extra crispy upon hitting the sun.

The game, which will be released on both iPhone and iPad, the tech of which Minter has reportedly tinkering with since the tail end of last year, runs on an upgraded version of Minter's Neon engine, which powered both Xbox 360's music visualizer and his last efforts Space Giraffe and Gridrunner++.

The title is soon to enter into Apple's approval process and the developer notes it'll support online leaderboards as well by the time its released. Its exact release date has yet to be announced, but we'll let you know as soon as.
