Microsoft has announced its sold over one million units of its new motion controller Kinect since release ten days ago, and has projected five million sales before the year is out.

"It's a strong start," said Microsoft's Don Mattrick, who first unveiled the technology at last year's E3 and who was promoted to President of Interactive Entertainment Business in October. "Consumers are loving it."

Kinect went on sale on November 4 in America and November 10 in UK, with Asia getting the hardware November 18.

It remains to be seen how Kinect will stack up against Sony's Move this Christmas.
