Square-Enix's Global Online Producer Sage Sundi and Senior Vice-President Hiromichi Tanaka have talked to Gamereactor about the problems facing the company's online title Final Fantasy XIV since launch, explaining the problems arose from the game's beta test bugs overwhelming the team.
"There was a lot of bugs that we were not expecting," explained Tanaka-san of the team's findings during the beta. "We ended up focusing on debuging. Therefore we didn't have the manpower to polish and implement all the feedback we received."
While Final Fantasy XIV earned a mixed critical reception upon launch, Square has subsequently worked to respond to the numerous issues listed from its community feedback with a version update for the PC title. It'll be the first of many, with a second update due to arrive in the new year, ahead of the PS3 launch which is scheduled for next March.
