Sources close to Kotaku's Jason Schreier have revealed a lot of new information relating to Destiny 2, most of which matches up to what we've heard from our own sources.
First of all, Bungie is aiming to make the sequel to Destiny a whole new experience. This means that it won't be a small iteration, but very much a new game with new planets, species and world structure. One of our sources compared it with Dragon Age: Inquisition and World of Warcraft, where towns are more lively and quest givers often have an interesting backstory of their own.
Our sources have told us these changes might force them to leave certain aspects from the first game behind, including the characters players have created. Apparently they're still looking into how to potentially reward returning players if they have to leave their characters behind, but nothing has been finalised at this moment.
Then there's good news for PC players. Both our and Schreier's sources claim that Destiny 2 will definitely come to PC, as well as consoles. Bungie's Luis Villegas indicated the same thing when we talked with him last week.
Schreier's has also heard that Vicarious Visions will help develop the game. We haven't heard anything about this, but it makes sense to expand considering Bungie and Activision's high hopes for it.
How do you like the sound of these changes? Would you be happy to say goodbye to your characters after so much time spent together?
