While Kinect as a lot of detractors, like a lot of tech it's been the platform for some interesting projects - which aren't part of the traditional game space.

Such as this: the V Motion Project. The shorthand description would be Child of Eden with Jeff Minter-inspired graphics, but it's a whole lot more than that.

While its creation was purely an advertisement tool for an energy drink, the "visualiser"'s interface and design, responding to the entirety player's movements rather than just his hands, and creating real-time changes to both audio and visual (almost a fusion between Dance Central and Rez HD) makes for compelling viewing.

Its creators chronicled their work on the project from start to finish, and is well worth the read.
