Not long after the Xbox One edition of Rocket league was given a release date, the hugely popular vehicular football game has received a huge 'season two' update, introducing into the game lots of new items and a brand new ranked system to overhaul the previous one.
The ten season one ranks (bronze I-III, silver I-III, gold I-III, and platinum) have been replaced with twelve new ranks with names tailored for Rocket League, with ranks like 'Superstar' and 'Prospect,' giving the new ranked system a dash more fun.
Along with the changes to the ranking, the way you climb the ranks has changed too. In a post last month on the steam forums, developer Psyonix stated that the main aim of the new season is to "de-emphasize the importance of single wins or loses and put the focus where it belongs - consistently playing well and improving your game over time."
Simply put, the new system determines how well you play over lots of matches rather than the outcome of one or two.
The new update also brings a host of new cosmetic items (some of which are rarer than others) for players wanting to get a new look for their car, a queue for experimental levels named 'Rocket Labs,' and a few more graphics options here and there. Click here for the full patch notes.
