Microsoft may well roll out the subscription-based Xbox 360 US model globally, the company's European VP.
Vice President of Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft Europe Chris Lewis was talking to VG247 about the potential success of the offer, which allows American players to pick up a Xbox 360 for $99, as long as they sign up to a $14.99 per month Xbox Live Gold subscription for two years.
Lewis says the European arm is watching the uptake "with interest".
"We'll decide if it makes sense for us to expand more fully in North America, globally or by region," he explained.
"We want to be able to offer that flexibility of choice, making that kind of proposition available to those that want to consume that way...I think the key it to have that portfolio of offerings...this is just another piece of that portfolio, and it will be interesting to see how folks consume it, what kind of reaction we get, and we'll tweak and enhance it based on what we hear."
