When Tim Schafer and Double Fine Productions went about making a sequel to the first game Double Fine ever released (Psychonauts) they went about securing funding from three sources. One third they fund themselves, another third comes from an outside investor, and the final third ($3,300,000) they're asking backers and investors on Fig to contribute.
The campaign for Psychonauts 2 has now achieved $3,000,000 and with 15 days remaining only 10% remain. It appears likely that the campaign will be successful, but some work still remains.
