With the original game already released on just about every format available, it's only natural that the team behind the monster hit Minecraft has begun the move beyond a traditional monitor or TV screen. This summer Mojang and Microsoft demonstrated Minecraft in use with the HoloLens augmented reality system, and there is also a version of Minecraft heading to Oculus Rift.
Minecraft VR is being developed with help from John Carmack and his team over at Oculus VR, and according to the man himself (Carmack, not God) things are progressing nicely:
"Post-Connect I have been busy working with @_tomcc and the Microsoft/Mojang team on Minecraft for Oculus. Coming along great," Carmack writes on Twitter.
The graphics may be old school, but the formats are certainly becoming state of the art.
