Today's Gamereactor Academy session digs into the audio landscape of video games, as we talk to the audio team responsible for every gunshot, explosion and siren in Payday 2.
Academy subscribers can tune in from 6pm GMT / 7pm CET this evening, as the three-man powerhouse team from Overkill Software - composer / lead audio designer Simon Viklund (whose previous works include Ballistics, Bandits: Phoenix Rising, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter PC, Bionic Commando: Rearmed) as well as sound designers Emil Nygren and Daniel Rydberg - give an introductory talk on working on video game sound design.
They'll be covering how they started in the industry, the skills they needed to get where they are today, and how their work influenced the soundscape of Payday 2. After the hour-long session they'll be hosting a live chat with viewers to answer any questions here.
All you need to do to watch the session, and gain access to others (both past and future), is to enroll with Gamereactor Academy.
The Academy offers a series of extensive videos with industry figures offering insights into game development, inspiration and education, providing you with the information and knowledge you need if you're looking to begin a career in game development. The sessions will offer both more practically focused programs as well as relaxed conversations with developers.
