Sega Networks, the mobile-focused division of Sega, has announced it's bought Boston-based mobile developer Demiurge Studios, as well as investing a majority share in new start-up Ignited Artists, based in San Francisco, and a minor investment in UK outfit Space Ape Games.

Ignited Artists, a new start-up co-headed by ex-Activision VP Alessandro Tento, is currently working on its first title, with Sega taking up marketing and publishing duties.

The publisher will also be handling publishing for Space Ape Games titles in Japan, which the development studio state is "our second-largest market and contributes around a third of our revenues".
