No, it's not a Metal Gear offshoot, nor a Mortal Kombat one. We're talking the classic shooter series, which next year will have a brand new game released for Xbox One, just in time for the series' 25th anniversary; the new version currently has no bells or whistles added to the name, and is simply known as Raiden.
The game is being developed and released by MOSS, who were also behind previous title Raiden IV: Overkill. The first official artwork can be seen below, and it's currently not known at this time if the game's exclusive to the platform.
