When Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse arrived in 2018, it served up an animated adventure that blew the minds of many and presented a ton of Spider-Folk variants that quickly became beloved in the eyes of fans. Little has come in regards to expanding the stories of these supporting characters up until this point, but it will soon be changing quite significantly, as Spider-Noir will debut on Prime Video in late May.

This is a show based on the character of Ben Reilly, the same Spider-Noir character that was introduced in Into the Spider-Verse. While this show is expected to present a version of the character that's different to the animated one, it is firm evidence that Sony and Marvel see a universe where other Spider-Folk can thrive and carry their own projects.

And seemingly Spider-Noir is just the first of many. We say this as the co-showrunner of Spider-Noir, Oren Uziel, has spoken to SFX Magazine (thanks, GamesRadar+) to claim that there are other Spider-Verse variant projects in the works.

"I'm focused on Spider-Noir, but I know there are others in the works. I've talked a bit to the people working on them and I think they are very exciting. They're following a little bit of that same formula [as Spider-Noir], that same idea of taking a genre and elevating it by putting a Spider-variant into it. It opens up a whole new world, and it's just an extremely exciting opportunity."

It's unclear what these will be but there are no doubt many who would love to see Spider-Gwen get her own adventure, or even perhaps Spider-Punk, taking the action to the streets of the Big Smoke, jolly old London.

Which Spider-Person would you like to see getting their own project?
