Ozzy Osbourne dies at 76-years-old: RIP Prince of Darkness

The Black Sabbath frontman recently appeared at a farewell concert.

It struck many as a surprise to hear, but Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman of the metal band Black Sabbath and the singer known as The Prince of Darkness, has sadly passed away. Aged 76, Osbourne passed on the morning of July 22, with the information confirmed by his family in a post on social media.

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.

"We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

Known for a lengthy music career that began in the early 1970s, Osbourne had a major impact on the rock and metal genre, inspiring many to come. His impact was recently showcased in full at the farewell concert that was hosted at Villa Park, where music legends of past and present came together for a huge charity event where millions was raised for those in need.

RIP Ozzy, you will be missed.
