Nissan has laid out its plans to get a whole slate of new car models onto roads by the 2026 fiscal year. The Japanese car titan has said that it plans to launch 30 new models of which 16 will be all-electric. To add to this, by this date, Nissan says that 60% of its ICE-powered cars will be refreshed into an EV counterpart.
It's making this massive commitment because it intends to reduce EV manufacturing costs by grouping the models and producing them as a family. This reduction in cost is expected to come to fruition in the 2027 fiscal year.
This Arc plan, as Nissan is calling it, will also see more manufacturing plants across Japan and the world being adapted to adopt its Intelligent Factory concept. This should help in the acceleration of new vehicle technologies too, further seeing Nissan expand and improve its motoring business.
