Callum is an automotive company that was created and set up by ex-Jaguar, Aston Martin and Ford engineer and designer Ian Callum. The company has built and designed a multitude of crazy cars, including the multi-terrain Skye, and now it is also looking to crack the accessibility space too with a new electric wheelchair accessible vehicle (eWAV).
The car is known as the eVITA, and is designed to suit the needs of WAV passengers who want small/medium-sized electric cars. The vehicle has been developed alongside Mobility Operations Ltd, and is supposed to serve as an example of advancements in the automotive and accessibility space.
The main catch with the eVITA is that it is only a concept car, meaning it may never release or could be several years from hitting the market. What we do know is that the car will have a 50kWh battery that aims to promise 200 miles of range, as well as offering LED puddle lights that project onto the ground and make it easier for passengers to find the access ramp.
