As part of the ongoing Geneva International Motor Show, McLaren has lifted the curtain and shown off a first look at its next supercar effort. Known as the Artura Spider, this car is said to be the manufacturer's "first-ever high-performance hybrid convertible", a car that is said to be bringing significant upgrades over the original Artura model.
This Spider edition will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 and E-motor powertrain that come together for around 690 bhp. It's also said to be best-in-class in regard to weight, with it said to be 83 kg lighter than the competition, all while its 1,457 kg of weight allows it to kick out a power-to-weight ratio of 480PS/tonne. As for this translates to performance, the Artura Spider is said to be able to clock 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and 0-300 km/h in 21.6 seconds, all on top of a top speed of 330 km/h.
The car will even boast a HD touchscreen infotainment suite that supports Apple CarPlay and wireless charging for mobile devices. With all of this in mind, you're probably wondering how much it will cost you to get your hands on one of these cars? The Artura Spider is looking to retail for £221,500 in its standard specification, with an upgrade to one of three performance elements costing a further £5,050 each.
