Ferrari is one of the world's most iconic car manufacturers and competitors in the motorsport space, but clearly this isn't enough for the prancing horse, as now Ferrari has revealed it's turning its attention towards conquering the oceans too.
Ferrari has revealed its intent to join and compete in the world of sailing. This will see navigator Giovanni Soldini named Ferrari's team principal, and will see the company using its automobile excellence to develop a yacht to undertake this new competitive venture.
"We are about to embark on an exciting journey that will expand our racing soul," said John Elkann, chairman of Ferrari. "With this new competitive challenge, motivated by our innovative capacity and commitment to sustainability, we will push beyond current boundaries. We are happy to be able to count on Giovanni, who is extraordinary in terms of experience, determination and team spirit."
Ferrari has also stated that its developments and innovations in the sailing space will help the company continue to improve and enhance what its super cars are capable of offering.
