Bugatti is at the end of an era. After years of developing cars using its powerful W16 engine, the automobile manufacturer has now revealed the last road-going model that will be using the W16 engine.

Known as the Mistral, this is an open-top roadster (Bugatti's first since 2012) that is said to be "far more than simply a re-development of the Chiron." It's noted to have been designed to be able to achieve a top speed of 420 km/h, all while meeting safety and crash regulations despite being a car without a roof.

There's no mention of exact specifications and speeds, but we are told that the car offers an all-new air intake system, has an 8-litre powertrain, boasts a high-end sound system, has a woven leather and aluminium interior, and all while being constructed from lightweight composite materials that have been structured to reduce mass.

It's unclear what sort of price bracket the Mistral will look to clock in at or likewise when it will make its debut on roads.
