Stellantis is a mega automobile company that serves as the parent company of various iconic car manufactures, including Dodge, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Jeep, and Chrysler. As part of the corporation's electric efforts, it has just unveiled a new electric vehicle platform that aims to significantly improve what it can offer consumers.

The platform is known as the STLA Large and is looking to serve as the foundation for a variety of upcoming EV, including efforts from Jeep and Dodge and eventually cars from Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Maserati. In total, eight new vehicles are planned to be launched on this platform, and as for what it will enable them to achieve, Stellantis has confirmed a few specifications.

We're told that it will enable the cars to deliver a range of 800 km or 500 miles, all while having 4.5 kWh per minute charging efficiency. It will also be able to power its vehicles to a 0-62 mph time of sub two seconds, and will come in one of two architectures; 400 or 800-volt.

With this new platform in mind, Stellantis is looking to have 48 battery electric vehicles on the market by 2024, and is looking to be carbon net zero by 2038.
