As part of its appearance at CES this year, Volkswagen has announced a new plan for its fleet of vehicles. In order to embrace the future, the massive automobile company will be bringing ChatGPT to its cars, all in an effort to expand and grow its IDA voice assistant. This will mean that users will gain access to an increasingly intelligent voice assistant that can read researched content out to them as they drive.

Volkswagen has announced that the ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3, new Tiguan, new Passat, and new Golf will all be the first set of vehicles that are receiving the ChatGPT treatment. It's also noted that the upgraded voice assistant will be able to operate the infotainment suite in the car, adjust air conditioning, receive vehicle-specific information, and interact in intuitive language too.

VW does state that there will be no change to how the driver uses their car. There will be no need to create an account or install a new app or system to use ChatGPT, it will simply be accessible by saying "Hello IDA" aloud or by pressing a button on the steering wheel.
