And also is protecting itself from liquidated damages.

With Tesla looking to debut and start delivering its Cybertrucks as soon as later this month, the car manufacturer has now printed an additional slate of fineprint in its purchase agreement that is seemingly to protect the Cybertruck from scalpers, and also to protect Tesla itself from people looking to get some insurance damage repayment for rash behaviour.

As Engadget reports, Tesla has now written into its agreement a specific mention that says that people are not allowed to resell their Cybertruck within the first 12 months of owning one, and that if they do, they could be barred from buying Tesla products in the future. The fineprint mentions that Tesla could seek "injunctive relief" if this clause is broken.

Likewise, anyone who could seek "liquidated damages" above $50,000 could also face the wrath of Tesla if they cannot prove the damages were incurred without purpose.

The Cybertruck won't reach full scale production until 2024, so while you will start seeing some on the road in the coming weeks and months, there will only be a limited number of the vehicles.
