Lotus has been making a huge deal about the announcement and reveal of its upcoming next major car, and now that the reveal has taken place, we can see why. Known as the Emeya, this car is regarded as the automotive company's first ever electric hyper-GT, and as for what this means, it means its an all-electric car that can do 0-62 mph in under 2.8 seconds.

The Emeya also promises a top speed of 155 mph, a battery that can be quick-charged in five minutes for an additional 93 miles of range, all on top of 1,000 sensors being built into the car that are said to be able to adjust the vehicle to ensure the smoothest ride possible. The car has also been built with sustainable materials to reduce its carbon footprint, and it will feature an audio system that Lotus describes as "unrivalled" with this supporting Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound.

There is no word on the price of the Emeya, as this will be announced at a later date, but we are told that production is expected to kick off in 2024, and that the Emeya is the next step in Lotus' journey to becoming a global performance brand by 2028.
