The automotive company, Polestar, has announced that it has created a full-scale 1:1 version of the winning design from its Polestar Design Contest. The car, which is known as the Polestar Synergy, is designed to buy into the electric supercar fantasy, and looks just like a Hot Wheels toy.
And this is a fitting comparison because the car is being immortalised as a Hot Wheels car and a Matchbox collectible in the future, since Polestar and Mattel have now teamed up to bring the car company's designs into a miniature form.
Polestar notes that the Synergy is called such as it has taken the designs of the three winning creators and merged it into one "cohesive reality." The result is a supercar that is just 1.07 metres tall but is a whopping 4.56 metres long. There is no mention of the car's speed or other statistics, but Polestar head of design, Maximillian Missoni, has added:
"This year, the story is as much about collaboration as performance. I'm proud that the team were able to guide and support the winners to realising their dream as a full-scale model. It's not often student designers receive such exposure at the start of their career, something the Polestar Design Community on Instagram does so well, amplified this year by the 1:1 scale model and its planned tour of Polestar locations around the world."
The car will be unveiled at the IAA event in Munich in September all before heading on the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, starting at El Segundo, California on October 7, 2023.
