If there is one area that electric cars show significant dominance over combustion engine cars it's in raw acceleration. Electric powered vehicles often have very quick 0-60 mph times, rivalling that of hypercars, and this has been proven in the past as the former record holder for fastest indoor speed, something completed over a quarter-mile straight, was held by Porshce's Taycan. That record has since been smashed.

The Taycan managed to complete the feat by setting a speed of 102.7 mph. Since then, Formula E has taken it upon itself to set a new record, and has done so by using a version of the Gen 3 car without any competitive limitations in effect. This allowed the race car to clock in at 135.9 mph in the short distance, thus annihilating Porsche's record.

The driver behind the wheel was Neom McLaren Formula E's Jake Hughes, and he completed the feat at the ExCeL Arena in London, the very venue that is hosting the next two rounds of Formula E this weekend.
