As the electric car movement progresses, Jaguar Land Rover-owner Tata has now announced its plans to double-down on all things electric. The company has revealed its intent to open a massive £4 billion electric car battery facility in Somerset, UK, which when constructed will be one of the largest facilities in all of Europe, capable of producing 40GWh, and is said to be creating around 4,000 jobs too.
As the BBC reports, the plant is regarded as the "most important investment in UK automotive since Nissan arrived in the 1980s."
As for what the plant will be producing, it will of course create batteries for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, but it is also claimed to be supplying other car manufacturers too.
The facility is expected to break ground on production in 2026.
