Audi has marked 150 years of its site in Neckarsulm by tasking a group of apprentice engineers with the task of electrifying the NSU Prinz 4 from 1971. The project has seen the team taking powertrain parts from the Audi e-tron and Audi Q7 TFSI e quattro, and using them to modernise the 70s vehicle, and fitting it with a "new high-voltage heart".

The end result is the EP4, a very cool looking car that is powered by a 240 hp electric motor. As this is an electric car, the chassis has shed its fuel tank and carburetor funnels, to make room for an electric power plant and various new cooling solutions.

To add to this and to make the car look sporty, various 3D printed parts have been added to the bodywork, and the interior has been specifically designed to be minimalist and to reflect a racing theme.

The sad part is that this car won't be sold commercially, but this hasn't changed the fact that it has seemingly impressed the brass at the company, as Audi's board member for human resources, Xavier Ros, did state that "projects like this show that our company has a strong future thanks to our young talent."
