Fiat is looking to kickstart the UK's plateauing electric car market by offering a £3,000 incentive to anyone in the country looking to buy either a Fiat 500e or a Fiat 500e Convertible.
This incentive comes as the UK ended its electric car incentive programme around 12 months ago. Now the Italian car manufacturer is looking to once again get the UK government on board with a similar incentivized programme that is used in many European countries, by showing how this £3,000 grant encourages EV purchases.
"There's no doubt the government's Plug-in Car Grant successfully kickstarted the UK's electric car revolution - it supported the sale of nearly half a million electric cars," said Damien Dally, managing director at Fiat UK.
"However, with the cost-of-living crisis and rising cost of electric vehicles, coupled with our net zero climate targets, we believe more needs to be done to incentivise individuals to be able to afford to make the switch."
