While Pagani is working on an all-electric hypercar, the son of the founder of the car manufacturer, Christopher Pagani, has now stated that we shouldn't expect to see this EV anytime soon.

Speaking with TopGear.com, Pagani noted that due to the current limitations of battery technology, the EV space is not yet ready for an all-electric Pagani, meaning we won't see the car unveiled or shown off anytime soon.

The reason being is not necessarily down to batteries being unable to power an EV Pagani, but more so due to the fact that the car manufacturer defines its cars by being lightweight, and current batteries don't allow for that as of right now.

"Our goal is to create something that has to be lightweight. Looking at Pagani, what you see that is common with all the vehicles that we produce, they have to be lightweight," said Pagani.

"You have to have a special feeling driving it, which sometimes you can call 'fun'. You can call it pleasure. But the weight is definitely our first question mark. So probably, nowadays with the existing technology we cannot create the Pagani the way that we would like to do."

Pagani hasn't put a timeline on when this EV will debut, as it doesn't "follow the market, or fashion."
