Electric vehicles are significantly better for the environment than combustion engine vehicles are, but EVs still face the challenges that a lot of petrol and diesel cars face by being made from materials that are obtained and manufactured with typically quite a large impact on the environment. The Swedish company Luvly is looking to turn that approach on its head with its flat-pack EV, the O.

This lightweight car has been built with sustainability at the forefront, and while it doesn't claim to make zero contribution to emissions, the car has been built and sourced from materials that are specifically picked due to their lower environmental impact.

To add to this, the car features a basic flat-pack construction style that allows people to easily put them together, and source replacement parts from nearby microfactories, thus reducing emissions even further.

The car operates on a 6 kWh battery that promises a 100 km range and a top speed of 90 km/h, all on top of having 267 litres of space in the boot. And while it is only a two seater vehicle, this means the car weighs less than 400 kg. With all of this in mind, Luvly's O starts retailing at €10,000.

Would you consider an EV like the O?
