Radical is one of those car brands that most people are likely unfamiliar with, as it's quite a niche company that creates vehicles for motorsport enthusiasts. But despite that being the case, the company does have what it regards as an entry-level car, and on the topic of this, it has now updated this very model.

Radical has announced in a press release that it is giving the XXR treatment to its SR1 model, which means that it will be improving the engine, chassis design, and durability of the car, to make it more efficient and faster on track.

This won't be the first time that Radical has given the XXR treatment to its cars, but it is the first time that its most accessible vehicle has received the package, and is actually the first time in six years that the SR1 has been significantly updated at all.

Radical Motorsport's head of research, James Pinkerton, states: "Although the entry-level racer, the SR1 XXR offers an outstanding package with unparalleled performance for the money, that will get you on the grid in a professionally administered race series."

The car is available to order today and is expected to enter into production this summer, all before being shipped in early February 2024.
