Mickey's Wild Adventure, a port of PSOne platformer developed by Traveller's Tales, is now available on the PSN Store at discount as part of Sony's "12 Days of Xmas" promotion.

Usually £4.79, the game has been dropped to £3.99 (£3.19 for Plus members) until midnight tonight.

While the drop in price mightn't be enough to interest, the game is definitely a unique curio worth checking out for Disney and platform fans.

It was originally released on the Mega Drive and SNES before venturing onto PSOne, and has a similar premise to Sonic Generations: a time-travelling adventure through the Mouse's most seminal work.

Wild Adventure went one further though, aping the visual look of each era in turn: first level Steamboat Willie, based on Mickey's first appearance, opened as black & white as the original cartoon, with colour only slowly seeping into the background the further you progressed.

It was a memorable graphical trick, and backed by a solid platform experience, that while not Mickey's finest hour - the duo of Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion still win out - showed the mettle of Traveller's Tales in capturing the spirit of licensed work, a form that did the studio well in later years with the Lego series of games.
