You'll have seven days to play NES games offline on Switch
Then you'll need to go online again.
Among other features, the Nintendo Switch online subscription will allow you to access a collection of classic NES games, but if you stop paying the subscription service, you will also lose access to those games. What if you go offline? Well, you will have the chance to play them for seven days, convenient if you take your Switch on the road.
Nintendo confirmed this on their own website. If you have an active subscription, but decide to go offline for any reason (like vacations), you will have seven days to play the NES games before they become unavailable. To regain access you will need to go online once again, for the service to confirm that you still have an active subscription.
At launch, on September 18, you will have access to the following NES titles:
- Soccer
- Tennis
- Donkey Kong
- Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros.
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
- Dr. Mario
- The Legend of Zelda
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Double Dragon
- River City Ransom
- Ghosts'n Goblins
- Tecmo Bowl
- Gradius
- Pro Wrestling
- Excitebike
