While we recently learned what the scenario of a hypothetical third opus might have been, today the first Half-Life is making news again. And that is thanks to Maxvollmer, a talented modder and a big fan of the game who is developing a virtual reality version of Half-Life.

The mod is currently in an alpha phase but is reportedly well advanced, with a good part of the title being playable. You can also try it right now via this link, if you're interested in testing it out at such an early stage. If you're curious to see what it looks like without experiencing it yourself, check it out here.

A team of fans is also developing a Half-Life 2 VR, but it's even further away from the final product. Are you going to put on your virtual reality helmet to relive the Black Mesa disaster?
