You can now buy Switch games with your Gold Coins
Nintendo's loyalty rewards now in use.
In February, Nintendo announced a new reward policy for buying games for Nintendo Switch. For every pound or euro spent in the eShop, users get a 5% of the amount converted to My Nintendo Gold Coins, and for every physical game registered in the console, get one percent of the eShop price for that game. Starting today, every user can pay for downloadable games or DLC with Gold Coins (though you'll need plenty of coins to buy a full game).
Nintendo has also revamped the Switch eShop. There is a little update page of the shop showing the amount of Gold Coins you will earn when purchasing a game. Also, the user profile displays the total amount of GC remaining in the account. Lastly, there is a new button on the check-out screen over the "pay with credit card" button to use your coins towards lowering the price.
It doesn't sound like much, but at least it's something to reward those of us who buy many games for our Switch. What do you think of this loyalty scheme?
