Valve has slowly transitioned away from being a traditional game developer, instead focusing mostly on Steam as well as their hardware in the form of various Steam Machines, the Steam controller, and of course the HTC Vive headset.
During this transition, the company's most experienced writers have left the company, and now it's time for another departure. Jay Pinkerton, who has worked with the company as a writer for 10 years, and was one of the minds behind Portal 2, has announced via his Facebook that he's leaving Valve.
It's unclear what new opportunities he'll pursue, but we doubt it'll be hard for him to find work. Do you like what's come out of this transition for Valve?
