The point-and-click thriller Yesterday Origins tells the story of John Yesterday, an immortal man born in Spain in time of the Inquisition who became immortal by celebrating an alchemical ritual. When we say immortal, he can still die, but when that happens he loses his memories. Then everything starts all over again for him, as will the game on May 31 when it launches for Nintendo Switch after a year-and-a-half on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Microïds just confirmed the new version of the game and its release date, and it's coming both physically to selected retailers and digitally to the Nintendo eShop. In this game, players travel in space and time through more than 10 different locations with 50 backgrounds, and along the way there'll be puzzle solving and the mysteries of immortality to uncover. Strong characters and off-the-wall dark humour are also hallmarks of adventure veterans Pendulo Studios.

There are a few screenshots and a new trailer, along with the official description below.

Yesterday Origins

It all starts in the 15th century, when the young John Yesterday is imprisoned for sorcery by the Spanish Inquisition. After escaping, he undergoes an alchemical ritual that makes him immortal. But things do not go as planned, and each time he is resurrected he loses his memory, retaining only flashes of his previous lives. In modern times, John lives peacefully in Paris with his girlfriend, Pauline. She is also immortal, but unlike John, she has kept her memories of her past lives. Together they will try to solve the mysteries of the past and reproduce the ritual so that John can keep his memories. They are not the only ones in search of these secrets however...
