Sega reiterated, for what must be the tenth time, that they had no plans to release any Yakuza games on an Xbox console when Yakuza Kiwami came to PC back in February. Well, plans can change, it seems, as we heard at X019 last night.
It seems like Xbox chief Phil Spencer hasn't just been going to Japan in hopes of getting new games on the Xbox One, but also beloved games that are already on other platforms. That's at least what we realised when Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima from the Yakuza franchise suddenly showed up in one of the trailers during last night's Inside Xbox show.
Yes, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are all making their way to Xbox One early next year. As if that wasn't good enough, all three will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the get-go, so you'll have the pleasure of experiencing the first three parts of the extravagant story for "free" if you're a subscriber.
Is this a good addition to Game Pass?
