Xbox chat getting upgraded with GIFs and more

Although these updates also include group messages being removed from the Xbox App on Windows PC.

If you've been looking at Xbox chat features and hoping for something more, then this new report from Windows Central might be just the news you need, as Microsoft has revealed that they're upgrading chat features to include a secondary inbox for non-friends and - most importantly - GIFs.

This means that old group messages will be lost, and afterwards group messaging will be removed from the Xbox App on Windows PC while they try and focus on console settings and simplification. A desktop solution for group messaging is on the way, but for now you can use the Xbox app for mobiles to keep updated with group chats, with the upgraded group messages coming to Xbox consoles today.

Do you have a lot of group chats on Xbox?
