World of Warcraft has dropped down to 7.1 million subscribers. This was reported by Blizzard in their latest earnings call (via MMO-Champion). The drop is down 2.9 million from last quarter, where the game peaked at 10 million subscribers on the back of the release of World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor. The drop represents the largest loss of paid customers since the game launched. Still, what game company wouldn't be happy with 7.1 million paying players on a monthly basis? It's going to be interesting to see if the numbers continue to drop in the next quarter or if it has bottomed out.
