Witcher series showrunner says show is "really not" for kids

The adult content of the games seems to be making its way into the series too, according to Lauren Hissrich at least.

News about Netflix's upcoming Witcher TV series has been slowly dribbling out. From a dwindling rumour all the way to seeing Henry Cavill in his full White Wolf outfit, fans are being teased with hints of what the future holds for Geralt.

Lauren Hissrich, executive producer for the TV series, recently stated on Twitter that the "show is not for 5-year-olds. Like, really not". This seems as though the show is going to follow in the footsteps of the game's notorious M rating, which itself reflects the typical violence of the Northen Kingdoms and Geralt's iconic personality.

The first season of the show has been revealed to contain eight episodes even though no release date has been announced yet. We're more than happy that Geralt's savage world is going to be put into full effect when it hits Netflix in the future though, and it's good to know this series won't water down the content.

Hissrich is someone who has been kind of a main voice for the content coming in the series, and has regularly hit back at critics on Twitter. Looking ahead though we know not only about Henry Cavill's role as Geralt, but also the actors for Triss, Dandelion, Ciri, and Yennefer, so it's certainly taking shape.
